Hello!I am George Bernstein, long time ivory collector and possibly the only dealer trading exclusively in ivory. I have developed a large Internet clientele to whom I regularly e-mail Special Offerings. I also occasionally sell through E-Bay. You can see my ratings under "Ivoryhound".

The majority of my Internet offerings consist of a variety of items, with something for everyone. Typically, they may contain Oriental, European, African and Eskimo pieces, and sometimes, uncarved teeth, scrimshaw, and netsuke. Usually, there are items priced for every pocketbook. Some sales are dedicated to only one type of ivory, i.e. all netsuke, or uncarved teeth, or books about ivory. At times I have such exotic items as large tusks, carvings from narwhal and hornbill, or utilitarian objects, such as billiard balls, snuff bottles, chess sets, globes, and brush pots. I also send out informational letters about things like the Care of Ivory, Testing for Ivory, an explanation of the Oriental Zodiac Signs, and a Glossary of Ivory terms. I do not sell ivory jewelry or ivory substitutes from synthetics.
